december catch-up

I would like to do a little catch up. I took Tyce and Jacey to the dentist awhile ago and it was actually very fun. The Pediatric dentist is the bomb. They are so awesome. Tyce and Jacey loved them. Tyce went first and was just a prince. Jacey watched and was very excited to have a turn.

She was very patient with the girl and let her clean and check her teeth. When the actual denist came, she was polite and talked to him but the second he got near her mouth, she ripped off the head phones, napkin, and anything else that was attached and grabbed my shirt in a death grip, trying desperately to make an escape. It was the funniest thing.

Rustin's little sister paints Jacey's toes every time we go down to visit and Jacey eats it up. She prances around and flashes her toes and fingernails at anyone who will pay attention. Whenever she see's anyone with the fingers or toes painted, she assumes Natty did it. She is such a girl and just loves being pampered.

woah, this dentist pic got out of order, wups.

Holy crap, all of these pics got out of order. Sorry. I'm sort of retarded. This is a dress Grandma Mickel gave Jacey for Christmas and she wore it for 5 whole days after. I barely got it off her to go to bed and I swear before her eyes even opened in the morning she was already saying, "Tan I have my blue dress on?" It was seriously the cutest thing. She pranced around like a proud pony for days, demanding that Tyce "dance" her. It was always "Dance me Tyce!" or "Marry me Tyce!" Ha! poor boy.

I love this pic of my Dad playing puzzles with Tyce. I love that even though my Dad suffers from so much daily pain, he still gets on the floor to play with his grandson. It melts my heart.

Oh the blue dress again. She has been asking me for ear rings lately.....seriously? already? So I got some stickers and put them on her ears which seemed to suffice.

They are waiting for their Dad to come home. Not to say they are sick of me at the end of the day??? Surely not.  Always a happy moment when he walks through the door.

This giant wad of paper came in a package I got so I rolled it out and taped it to the floor to let the kids paint. Tyce painted lot of whales of course and was so cute but Jacey made such a freaking mess.....holy cow, I dont know what I was thinking.

I took Jacey on a horse ride when we went down and it felt so good. Its so fun to share with the kids the things and places that I love. Its those perfect moments in life when everything is right in our world.

more pics out of order, wups.

Ok so seriously I have turned into the best cinnamon roll maker in the whole wide world. Not to toot my own horn, but for real, look how cute!

My friend taught me how to make these and they are divine, and so pretty, I love them. The same recipe is used for dinner rolls and orange rolls and they are equally good. Tyce loves them so much he calls me a baker girl and he just loves when I'm a baker girl. When I make the cinnamon rolls, he tells me he loves me over and over as he giggles. Its the cutest thing.

A few Christmas pics. Christmas couldnt have been anymore perfect. It was such a beautiful time. Tyce and Jacey are at the funnest age for Christmas.

Jacey woke up first and we told her not to wake up Tyce yet and this is where I found her waiting patiently. So dang cute.

We finally went and woke up Tyce and when he realized what day it was, he went from zero to sixty and was up the stairs before his eyes even opened.

What the? I dont know what I did to get all these pictures all over, sorry :)

We had a Christmas at home the Saturday before and that evening we went to the Willard Bay lights which was so much fun! The kids loves it! We went on a sleigh ride, pulled by horses through all the fun lights and the kids ate it up. It was magical.

The Saturday following Christmas is the annual Mickel sledding party. Lots of great company and LOTS of great food - a true Mickel get together. Love it :)

I love this pic of Tyce. He has such an addictive, excitable personality and this picture captures it.

Jacey fell asleep on the 4 wheeler during the sledding party and was didnt stir for 2 hours after we got her home. Poor little lamb, we wiped her right out. She looks like such an angel when she sleeps - like she could never do a thing wrong.......so, so deceiving :)

Well the pictures were all out of order but that was a little December catch-up :)

a little prayer...

I need to write this down before I forget. Friday morning I made oatmeal for breakfast and Tyce fell on the floor pouting and saying how he doesnt like oatmeal. I kept telling him that oatmeal is good for his body. All of a sudden he stood up and said, "Mom I need to say a prayer and ask Heavenly Father to help me be nice and listen to you." He promptly walked over to the couch, knelt down and prayed for quite awhile, then he sat down at the table and ate all of his oatmeal. I was shocked.

I am so grateful for my little Tyce. He has been so nice lately. Sometimes when I am with him I feel like I am with one of the truly greats. He is definitely a 4 year old boy and can be incredibly obnoxious at times but the core Tyce is so nice and kind. I feel like he is a very great little person and I feel so privileged to be his mom.

random happenings....

So most often, this is how I find Jacey....not so much with the hangers wound around her waist but with a bare bum. I have a yet to dedicate a post to potty training but that is coming. It has been the biggest nightmare - to put it mildly. At any rate, I cannot keep a diaper or underwear on her. In fact, I am doing pretty good if I can at least keep her in a shirt. Heaven help us.

A cow got out while we were home so Grandma, Jacey, and I went to fix the fence. Jacey loves her Grandma's. She prays for her Grandma's several times a day. It's pretty cute.

Me and Rustin were on the Ward Christmas Party Committee this year and I'm so mad I didnt take a picture because we did a bang up job on the decorations. It turned out so good. My friend from Paradise (well he is more like my second Dad) made a Nativity scene and it looked amazing! We asked a couple who just had a  baby to be Mary and Joseph and we had pretty Christmas Hymns playing and it was very effective. It turned out great. We covered all the tables with butcher paper and spread crayons and Christmas stamps down the middle of the tables so the kids could color instead of running around. We borrowed tons of Christmas trees to decorate the stage for the singing and entertainment. It turned out so great. I just wish I would have gotten a picture.

Me and Rustin, Rustin's Dad, and Jay (our brother-in-law) went up Canal Canyon to hunt for a Christmas tree. It was so weird not to have snow but it sure make the hiking easier.

We did really well this year. The tree's we got were really pretty and quite perfect. It was a beautiful hike and great company. The tree cutting tradition is one of my favorites and even if there was no snow and even if we didnt actually use a real tree because we didnt want to figure out how to haul it to Wellsville when we have a hand-me-down fake tree in our basement, I STILL love the tradition. Its not quite as fun has piling on the tractor like we did all growing up, but I do enjoy it just the same.

We had a Walker Christmas Party and this is Tyce waiting patiently for everyone to quit eating so he could open his present. It was so funny, for a long time all the adults were eating and visiting and the kids were running around playing, and Tyce just sat on this chair waiting for his present. He was seriously, outside his mind with excitement!

Tyce has such an excitable personality which made Christmas SO much fun. I sure love my little buddy.

Our New Years Party

We had our own little New Years Eve party this year and it was so fun.
We made pizza's.

We played Lego's.....well Rustin mostly just put them together while Jacey was doing her best to loose all the little parts, making it impossible to finish. Tyce got 4 sets of Lego's this year. One from us, two from Rustin's mom, and one from Grandma Mickel. They were all different and go well together so Tyce was ecstatic.

This is the baby doll Jacey picked out to trade for her binki's. She really loved it to death that night. It was super cute.

Then we made grasshopper milk shakes. I'm not a huge mint fan but I got out voted so mint/oreo milkshakes it was. It was fun.

Then we finished the night with a good game of Uno Attack. We were all laughing so hard. It felt good to play together like that. Tyce and Jacey so wanted to push the button and get lots of cards so the game would go on forever because they werent quite picking up the concept. It was a riot.

Well, a few days late, but Happy Freak'en New Year everybody! Here is to 2013!
