Painfully One

So we went cross country skiing the other day. It was fun, but the snow was a little too slushy and if you got off the trail you got hung up in rocks and sage brush but still fun.

Cali took this picture awhile ago and I thought it was cute - good job Cal. So Tyce is one and walking and it has been so fun to watch but so painful too. He is getting a little over confident and he tries to run and as a result he gets lots injuries. Story #1 Yesterday we were outside and he was walking through this huge puddle and then he tripped and fell. He was absolutely drenched, his clothes were soaked and the wind was so cold, his lips were purple and his face was dripping with muddy water. Of course I was laughing so hard. I wish so badly that I would have gotten a picture. He looked like a drowned kitten. He was heart broken and wouldn't quit whimpering until I had all his clothes off and wrapped in a blanket. Story #2 He runs into walls all of the time. I don't know if he just gets off balance, or he just has the coordination of his mom, but he is always running into walls - face first and will often bloody his mouth. Story #3 He thinks he can walk down the stairs frontwards so the other day he fell all the way down the stairs. He cried for a second and then went right back to the stairs, meanwhile I couldn't quit crying after watching his body twist and fall like that. Story #4 I had to get rid of our coffee table because he kept hitting his head or plopping down on the corner and hitting his tail bone and he would cry every time he would fall on his bum. Story #5 This morning he tripped and hit the corner of a wooden stair and his bottom tooth went right through his lip. His mouth was full of blood and once again, he cried for a second and then was back to playing while I can't stop crying until I call my mom and she tells me it will be ok. His lip is purple and swollen and it breaks my heart.

Well, it's only the beginning and I'm sure I'll tough'n up but Wow!

On the farm...

We play with dogs...

Ride the tractor with Grandpa...

Feed the animals...

Ride the horses...

Feed cows... or keep them from eating as it were.

And when the chores are done, we walk home with Dad...

Tyce started walking last week and had a terrible time trying to stay on his feet outside with the rough terrain. It's been so fun to watch him walk and try to run.

Snow

It snowed all night and most of the day and by the evening I couldn't find my car. It was amazing.

The snow storm brought in 30 inches. It was crazy but beautiful!

A little hike

So we went on a hike last Saturday and Tyce was being so onry and was even more ticked off when we tried to put him in the pack (yes he is a little big for it).

Without the binki.......

With the binki.

As you can see, Tyce is still pouting.

He finally decided that life was ok once we gave him some yogurt.

The good news is, we still love him.

This boy loves Chocolate

Last night, we were eating dinner and me and Rustin were having a conversation and I guess we were ignoring our starving son. When we looked over he had snatched his pudding and was eating it with his fingers.

...and then he decided to bag the fingers.

Chocolate Frosting

Tyce had his first birthday over the weekend. He wasn't really into the presents....

Except for this one....

But he was really excited about the chocolate frosting...

This was the cake at Grandma and Grandpa Palmer's house. He had just woken up from a nap and wasn't really sure how he felt about every one staring at him.

But at Grandma and Grandpa Walker's he was wired!

It took him about three seconds to realize just how good the frosting was and then it was over.

He would get two hand fulls and start giggling and clapping and shaking his hands.

There was frosting on the floor, the chairs, the wall. It was such a mess to clean up, but well worth it.

Happy Birthday Tyce!!!

Girls Night Out

Last weekend me and all my sisters, two sister-in-laws, mom, and grandma went to Midway for a girls night out. It was so fun. We ate, went swimming, talked and laughed our fat faces off. I forgot to take pictures of everything else but boy did I take pictures of our cross-country skiing! Everyone kept getting annoyed of all my picture taking in the name of the blog, but I know you were anxiously waiting for me to do this post. Ha!
