Classic Mom Moments

I had some classic mom moments yesterday I was thinking about this morning and chuckled to myself. Sometimes in the moment I don't think anything of it because those it seems so normal but as I thought back, I couldn't help laugh.
Yesterday, while on the toilet (no we dont have a lock on the bathroom door, yes, it is super awesome) I was putting Jacey's shoes on that she brought to me and Tyce was showing me the praying mantis he caught in a pencil box and we were trying to figure out what insects we could catch to feed to this new pet he named "Crawly"- how is that for multi-tasking?
Yesterday afternoon I was taking down some things off the wall and had some green push pins in my hand. Jacey wanted them so without even thinking, I gave them to her. She played and played with them. She put them in her purse and carried them around for hours. When I was trying to do her hair she did the classic "floor sprawl and head shaking" routine which makes it absolutely impossible to get a "pokey" (pony tail :)) in her hair. So I found the push pins and said "Here! Play with these!". She calmed right down and let me do her hair. Seriously what mom intentionally gives their 2 year old push pins to play with? The same mom that gives their 4 year old a serrated knife to cut up card board boxes? Yes, yes its true.  I really do love my children, I promise. They are just really good with sharp objects in hand. No ER visits yet, so thats good news. Haha :)

Aggie Game

This is late but we had tickets to go to the Aggie vs Utah game and it was UNREAL! Of all the games to go to, that was incredible. We had such a great time. Woah....sorry these pictures are out of order....I'll get back to the game in a minute :)
This pic of Jacey is for your viewing pleasure. Ha! love it :)

Me and Tyce went on such a fun ride over Labor Day. I love my little buddy.
Oh right...back to the Aggie game. So we took Jacey and she did so good. She loved it til about the 3rd quarter and then she got pretty restless so she watched Mickey Mouse on Rustin's phone the rest of the time and did great.

The students stormed the field of course.....as they should have. It was such a great game. Go Aggies!

Jacey's Bday

Happy 2nd Bday Jac! Me and my sister Maggon made an Ariel Birthday cake for her and she really loved it, it was pretty fun.

Grandma gave her this little skirt and it was seriously the cutest thing in the whole world. Oh my word she thought she was the prettiest thing in the world - which of course she was :) She pranced around like a peacock. We gave her some dress-up Ariel high heels and she thought she died and went to heaven.

We had to do some shopping today and she HAD to wear her high heels in every store. I couldnt talk her out of it to save my life. She clomped around in every store and it was so loud! Plus she walked 10x slower then normal - it was extra good :) Funny, funny girl, but we really love her. Happy Birthday Jac!

Madam Mim

Check this out - doesnt she look like Madam Mim off Sword in the Stone? She saw me straightening my hair and wanted her hair straight and it just stuck out like straw. I was just laughing, she looked so funny especially with the gash on her nose :)
Note the bandaid on her arm. Tyce cut his finger and needed a bandaid so of course Jacey needed an honorary "bambaid" or we just couldnt deal with life. Some battles are just not worth fighting :)
She was climbing on the back of a stroller which was on the porch at my friends house and it tipped over and she landed on the sidewalk on her nose. She looked pretty banged up for awhile.

Cousin Lainey came to play with us for a few days. Lainey and Jacey are only a few weeks apart and they were the cutest little friends. It was kind of a love/hate relationship as they both became little Mine-osaurs, mostly a love relationship though :)

We went fishing a bit ago at Fairview Lakes. It's always fun with cousin Jayden.

One second she is Madam Mim, the next a Mine-osaur and the next, Little Mermaid.......just never know what you'll get with this monkey :)

10K @ 10K

I ran my first 10k on Saturday and it was actually really fun. I was surprised. I thought it would be one of those things I would do once and be done but I would totally do it again. However I have no desire to do a half marathon :) My time was 50:07. The last two miles were up hill with a full head wind, I seriously thought I was going to die.
It was kind of funny because I didnt even look at my time when I crossed the finish line. I just knew that is where I stopped and thats all I needed to know :) When they were announcing the winners I was just chatting with people and was totally surprised when they called my name. I was just laughing - a medal! Wa-hoo! I was the 2nd girl to cross the finish line but the first one in my age group I guess. I didnt even know they split it up like that. The girl that beat me was a 16 yr old on the Clearfield High cross country team - cheater..ha jk :) She was amazing. Anyhow, it was kind of fun.
Plus, I put the tag with my number on in the raffle and I won the raffle too. Came home with all sorts of loot :)
Jacey thought my medal was pretty sweet, she has been wearing it around as her "neckus". I loved running in my mountains. The trail was gorgeous and the day was a bit hot but otherwise perfect. It was really fun and hopefully I'll get a chance to do it again.

Mickel Camp continued....

Ok, this is the last bunch of mickel camp pics. We took Tyce and Jacey out in Grandpa's fishing boat. We didnt have any life jackets that fit them so we made do with what we had. Not sure it would have stayed on had they actually gone overboard but peace of mind anyway.

Can you find Tyce is this pic? Ha! it was the funniest thing. It started to thunder when we got out there and Tyce is pretty scared of thunder so he gave up fishing, laid down on the boat floor and asked me to cover him up. Bless his little cotton socks.

Jacey missed her nap and decided to join him on the floor.....and they covered their faces with their jackets when the thunder got loud :)

The rain finally caught up to us and chased us off the lake - we were soaked! But you never make good memories by staying clean or dry :) It was definitely memorable and a lot of fun.
Jacey was so dirty we tried to tub her the best we could - she just fit :)

Overall Mickel Camp was an absolute ball. We had a wonderful time doing all the things we love best. So grateful Rustin was able to get the time off so we could go. Thank you!
