Camping, Parades, & Fishing = Summer

This summer has been so much fun. We have been able to do a lot of camping, fishing, 4-wheeling, and all the summer festivities. It is has been so fun to live so close to the mountains that we love.


This was us waiting for the fireworks. Tyce did not love the fireworks. Everytime the loud boom would go off he would ask if they were shooting rock-chucks (which Rustin has shot a lot of so he is pretty sure that is what guns are for). He would cover his eyes with his blanket for awhile and then watch the fireworks for awhile, then cover his eyes, etc. It was so funny.


He has just started really like riding the horses. He loves to ride bareback. Me and my sisters go up to my parents house sometimes once a week to take our kids riding which has been really fun.



We went to Grandma Walker's for Lamb Days and had donuts while waiting for the parade.



He loves the parades. At first he didn't care a lick for the candy, he was so fascinated by the tractors, firetrucks, "cool dude cars", and trailers, and everything else with a motor, we could not get him to pick up the candy.



But he caught on after awhile.


He loves to fish with his Dad.



He was so excited about the fish - he wouldn't leave them alone.


These boys love their "Grampy".


We went to Rustin's family reunion known as Mickel Camp and their big tradition is to bring up a mutton and cut it up right there and cook. Kind of a fun tradition if you like mutton. The smell is a little more then I can handle but they love it.



Tyce went frog hunting with his cousins.


They caught a salamander and Tyce kept calling it an alligator.


This is his construction site. He asked me for some grapes but didn't eat them - he had a better use for them. Whatever entertains them, right?

Fishing in the Boat

We went fishing at Hunington the other evening with "Grampy". It was so fun. Tyce loved it!


It was his first time in the boat. I thought he would get pretty restless in such a tight space but he did really well. He was pretty entertained by watching the water but wasn't content with the pace of trolling. He kept begging Grampy to go faster. He figures anything with a motor should go fast fast.




It was a little tricky to keep him from jumping in but I considered it successful since he was only wet to his elbows. I didn't want to actually need the over-sized life jacket he was wearing. It was so beautiful and a lot of fun. It's so fun to watch him do things for the first time. Everything is such a thrill.

Summer happenings

Summer has been busy as always and so much fun. Rustin and I took a beautiful 4-wheeler ride on Memorial Day. It was so fun to just ride and ride without having to worry about Tyce. Some of Rustin's friends hike up Horseshoe Mountain with their snowboards and snowboard off the Shoe, so we went up and watched.

We got him some golf clubs the other day and I was trying to get him in the tub but he kept running away to play "golf ball".

We took Tyce to 7 Peaks. It was so fun. He absolutely loved it. He ran from pool to pool and from slide to slide for over 5 hours straight. We were bribing him with everything we could think of to try to get him to leave but he wouldn't have it.




Finally we talked him into some chocolate if we could leave the park and it was a little melty.


This was two seconds after he ate his chocolate. All the slides and the water wore him right out.

Bowling

We went bowling for Rustin's little sister's birthday. Tyce loved it. He kept rolling everywhere and would decide which ball we could have.



He was the keeper of the balls.


There was a track-hoe digging at the neighbors house and Tyce stood by the fence and watched for about 30 min until I had to drag him away kicking and screaming. I hope he grows out of this obsession some day.

Snow Cones & Cotton Candy

The elementary school hosted a carnival and Tyce had a ball. He loved his first "ba-loo" (blue) snow cone and cotton candy.

Then we couldn't get enough.


He had a ball on the big blow up toys.



We visited some baby chickens with my niece Andelyn.





And we did some finger painting on a rainy day. He liked it for quite awhile and then had more fun watching me draw everything he requested which consisted of tracters, blue Ford tractors like Grandpa Palmer's, Green John Deere ones like Uncle Dan's, backhoes, trackhoes, Lightening McQueen, and Sally, etc.

It's a Girl!

So I'm pregnant. I don't think I've mentioned that on here yet. I'm about 24 weeks and we found out we're having a girl. Rustin was so excited. He wanted a girl so badly. He was perma-grin the whole day when we found out. I'm due September 8th. This pregnancy started out a little rough as they all do, but I'm feeling great right now so I am very grateful for that. I'm a little nervous to have two, one has been pretty easy lately but we're excited.


It was really funny. Tyce had to be in every picture and he is very good and saying cheese as you can see.

Girls weekend out

My sister Hayley lives in Wyoming and wanted us to come up and play in a volleyball tournament a few weekends ago. It was such a ball (no pun intended). We all left our kids (except Anna brought her baby) for the weekend and drove to Afton Wyoming. There is only one who is not a sister...can you guess which one? Hayley recruited a friend to play with us and she was awesome. We really needed her considering our tallest player was maybe 5'7. My favorite part is that I had to play middle blocker - if thats not intimidating, I'm not sure what is.


We had so much fun. We talked and laughed all the way there and giggled all evening like we were twelve years old at a sleepover. We played volleyball all day Saturday and drove home Sunday. It was so therapeutic, except I haven't been that sore in a long time. I could barely walk the next day.


Considering three of us were pregnant, we actually did really well in the tournament. I think we would have been in the championship if we were all about 5-10 years younger, but we were pretty wore out towards the end of the day. We really had a blast though. Thanks Hayley for inviting us!
